On the 18th of April, the Ashhwika Foundation, a leading advocate for mental health awareness and holistic wellbeing, hosted a transformative workshop at Rajdhani College. This event was tailored for students pursuing graduation, focusing on the profound theme of “Healing Relationships” through the integrated concept of Mind, Body, and Soul.
Workshop Theme: Healing Relationships
In today’s interconnected yet often isolating world, relationships can be both a source of profound joy and significant stress. Recognizing the importance of nurturing healthy relationships, this workshop aimed to provide students with holistic strategies to foster healing and growth in their interpersonal connections.
Expert Panel: A Holistic Approach
The workshop featured a panel of three distinguished experts, each bringing a unique perspective to the theme:
Sadaf Saeed, RCI Licensed Psychologist: With her deep expertise in psychology, Sadaf Saeed provided insights into the mental and emotional aspects of relationships. Her session focused on understanding emotional intelligence, effective communication, and conflict resolution. By addressing common psychological barriers, she offered students practical tools to enhance their emotional wellbeing and relational health.
Payal Grover, Fitness Expert: Emphasizing the connection between physical health and relational wellbeing, Payal Grover’s session highlighted the impact of fitness on mood, stress levels, and overall mental health. She introduced students to simple yet effective fitness routines that can be incorporated into daily life to promote a healthy body, which in turn supports a balanced mind.
Shailja Sachdeva, Healer: Bringing a spiritual dimension to the workshop, Shailja Sachdeva’s session delved into the soul’s role in healing relationships. She introduced practices such as meditation, mindfulness, and energy healing, encouraging students to connect with their inner selves. This connection, she explained, is crucial for cultivating empathy, compassion, and a deeper understanding of oneself and others.
Workshop Structure
The workshop was meticulously structured into three 30-minute sessions, each focusing on one of the core aspects of holistic wellbeing:
Mind (30 minutes): Led by Sadaf Saeed, this session explored psychological strategies to improve emotional intelligence and communication skills.
Body (30 minutes): Conducted by Payal Grover, this session emphasized the importance of physical fitness in maintaining mental and emotional health.
Soul (30 minutes): Guided by Shailja Sachdeva, this session introduced spiritual practices to foster inner peace and enhance relational harmony.
Engagement and Interaction
Each session was designed to be interactive, with students participating in discussions, practical exercises, and guided practices. This hands-on approach ensured that the concepts were not only understood but also experienced, providing students with a holistic toolkit to apply in their daily lives.
Positive Impact and Feedback
The workshop was met with enthusiastic participation and positive feedback. Students appreciated the comprehensive approach, which addressed various dimensions of their wellbeing. Many expressed gratitude for the practical advice and the opportunity to explore holistic practices that they had not previously considered.
