Ashhwika Foundation

On the 12th of April, the Ashhwika Foundation, dedicated to promoting holistic wellbeing and mental health awareness, conducted a transformative workshop at Lady Irwin College. This event was specially designed for students pursuing graduation, aiming to equip them with the tools to manage social pressure effectively.

Workshop Focus: Social Pressure

The theme of the workshop was “Social Pressure,” a pertinent issue faced by many young adults in today’s fast-paced and competitive world. Social pressure can significantly impact mental health, leading to stress, anxiety, and even depression if not addressed appropriately. Understanding and managing these pressures is crucial for maintaining mental and emotional wellbeing.

Expert Guidance by RCI Licensed Psychologist Sadaf Saeed

The workshop featured an insightful session led by RCI licensed psychologist Sadaf Saeed, renowned for her expertise in mental health and counseling. With her extensive experience, Sadaf Saeed brought a wealth of knowledge and practical advice to the session, making complex psychological concepts accessible and relatable for the students.

Workshop Structure

The workshop was structured into two main segments to maximize its impact and ensure comprehensive understanding:

Interactive Session on Social Pressure (40 minutes): During this session, Sadaf Saeed delved into the various dimensions of social pressure, including peer influence, academic expectations, and societal norms. She discussed the psychological effects of these pressures and provided strategies for coping and resilience. The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating and sharing their experiences. This engagement not only enriched the discussion but also fostered a sense of community and mutual support among the participants.

Q&A Session (15 minutes): Following the interactive discussion, a 15-minute Q&A session was held, allowing students to pose their questions directly to the expert. This segment was particularly valuable, as it provided personalized advice and addressed specific concerns of the attendees. The open dialogue helped demystify many aspects of social pressure and offered practical solutions tailored to individual needs.

Impact and Feedback

The workshop received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the participants. Many students expressed their appreciation for the practical tips and the empathetic approach of Sadaf Saeed. They found the session not only informative but also empowering, as it equipped them with actionable strategies to handle social pressure effectively.
