On July 28th, 2023, the Ashhwika Foundation, a dedicated mental health awareness NGO, organized a comprehensive workshop at General Raj School in Hauz Khas. The workshop focused on crucial topics such as Peer Pressure, Bullying, Mental Health Awareness, and Stress Management, catering specifically to students in the 11th and 12th grades. The session was led by licensed and certified psychologist Leher, offering valuable insights, strategies, and support to help students navigate challenges effectively and prioritize their mental well-being.
The workshop began by addressing the prevalent issues of peer pressure and bullying, which can significantly impact students’ mental health and well-being. Leher engaged the students in open discussions, encouraging them to share their experiences, concerns, and strategies for coping with peer pressure and bullying.
Licensed psychologist Leher then delved into the importance of mental health awareness and self-care practices in managing stress and building resilience. The workshop included interactive activities, role-playing scenarios, and mindfulness exercises to help students recognize signs of stress, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and seek support when needed.
The session emphasized the significance of creating a supportive and inclusive school environment where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to express themselves authentically. Leher’s expertise and empathetic approach resonated with the students, fostering a sense of trust and openness during the workshop.
The foundation’s holistic approach to mental wellness included discussions on self-esteem, assertiveness skills, conflict resolution, and seeking help from trusted adults or mental health professionals. The workshop empowered students to advocate for their well-being, set boundaries, and cultivate positive relationships with peers and educators.
As part of its commitment to supporting students’ mental health, the Ashhwika Foundation provided educational materials, handouts, and self-help resources for students to utilize beyond the workshop. These resources served as valuable tools for ongoing self-care, stress management, and building resilience.
The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with students expressing gratitude for the opportunity to learn practical skills and strategies for navigating peer pressure, bullying, and mental health challenges. Many students shared how the workshop had empowered them to prioritize their mental well-being, seek support when needed, and contribute to a positive school culture.
The success of the workshop at General Raj School highlighted the Ashhwika Foundation’s dedication to promoting mental wellness and resilience among young adults. By collaborating with licensed professionals like Leher and addressing critical topics such as peer pressure, bullying, and mental health, the foundation continues to make a meaningful impact in empowering students to lead healthy, fulfilling lives.
Moving forward, the foundation remains committed to offering workshops, resources, and advocacy initiatives that empower individuals to prioritize their mental health, build resilience, and thrive in all aspects of their lives.
