On May 6th, 2023, the Ashhwika Foundation, a dedicated mental health awareness NGO, conducted an enlightening workshop at Sant Kirpal School in Najafgarh. The workshop focused on a crucial topic: How to Overcome Exam Anxiety. Led by licensed and certified psychologist Minal Chatterjee, the workshop was specifically tailored for Grade 11th and 12th students, providing valuable strategies and support to help them manage exam-related stress effectively.
The workshop began with an introduction to the prevalence of exam anxiety and its impact on students’ mental well-being, academic performance, and overall quality of life. Students were encouraged to share their experiences, concerns, and triggers related to exam stress, creating a safe and supportive environment for open dialogue.
Licensed psychologist Minal Chatterjee delved into the causes and symptoms of exam anxiety, emphasizing the importance of self-awareness, preparation, and coping strategies in overcoming these challenges. Through interactive discussions, practical exercises, and mindfulness techniques, students gained valuable insights into managing stress, boosting confidence, and optimizing their performance during exams.
The workshop covered a range of topics, including time management, relaxation techniques, positive self-talk, and seeking support when needed. Minal Chatterjee’s expertise and empathy resonated with the students, empowering them to develop personalized strategies for addressing exam anxiety and navigating high-pressure situations with resilience and composure.
The interactive format of the workshop allowed students to actively engage, ask questions, and participate in hands-on activities designed to enhance their understanding and application of stress management techniques. The foundation’s focus on evidence-based practices and professional guidance ensured that students received accurate information and practical tools to support their mental well-being.
As part of its holistic approach, the Ashhwika Foundation also provided educational resources, handouts, and self-help materials for students to reference and utilize beyond the workshop. These resources served as valuable reminders and guides for implementing ongoing self-care and stress management practices.
The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing gratitude for the opportunity to learn effective strategies for overcoming exam anxiety. Students reported feeling more empowered, confident, and equipped to approach exams with a positive mindset and proactive approach to managing stress.
The success of the workshop at Sant Kirpal School highlighted the Ashhwika Foundation’s commitment to supporting students’ mental health and well-being, especially during challenging periods such as exams. By collaborating with licensed professionals like Minal Chatterjee and tailoring workshops to specific audience needs, the foundation continues to make a meaningful impact in promoting mental wellness and resilience among young adults.
