On August 18th, 2023, the Ashhwika Foundation, a dedicated mental health awareness NGO, conducted an impactful workshop at Suraj Bhan DAV School in Vasant Vihar. The workshop centered on addressing critical issues such as Peer Pressure and Bullying while also integrating holistic healing activities for students in grades 9th to 10th. The session was designed to empower students in mind, soul, and body, featuring one-to-one conversations, healing activities, and a lively Zumba session with expert panels.
The workshop began by addressing the prevalent challenges of peer pressure and bullying, which can significantly impact students’ mental and emotional well-being. Archana Singhal, a licensed psychologist and mind panel expert, engaged students in meaningful conversations, discussions, and interactive activities to explore the effects of peer pressure and strategies for building resilience.
Simultaneously, Shailja Sachdeva, a soul panel expert, facilitated healing activities focused on promoting emotional wellness, self-awareness, and positive self-expression. Students participated in mindfulness exercises, guided meditations, and creative activities to connect with their inner selves and cultivate a sense of inner peace and balance.
The workshop also included a dynamic Zumba session led by Fitness Domb Payal Grover, a body panel expert. The Zumba session promoted physical fitness, stress relief, and the release of endorphins, contributing to overall well-being and boosting students’ mood and energy levels.
The integration of mind, soul, and body panels in the workshop provided students with a comprehensive approach to mental wellness, emphasizing the interconnectedness of mental, emotional, and physical health. The foundation’s commitment to holistic well-being was evident throughout the session, as students engaged in activities that nurtured their mind, nourished their soul, and invigorated their body.
The one-to-one conversations with Archana Singhal allowed students to share their experiences, concerns, and strategies for coping with peer pressure and bullying in a safe and supportive environment. The healing activities with Shailja Sachdeva encouraged self-reflection, self-expression, and emotional healing, empowering students to embrace their authentic selves and manage stress effectively.
The energetic Zumba session with Fitness Domb Payal Grover added a fun and dynamic element to the workshop, promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and positive energy among students. The session served as a reminder of the importance of incorporating physical activity into daily routines for overall well-being.
The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with students expressing gratitude for the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations, healing activities, and energetic fitness sessions. Many students shared how the workshop had equipped them with valuable skills, strategies, and perspectives for navigating peer pressure, bullying, and maintaining overall mental and physical wellness.
The success of the workshop at Suraj Bhan DAV School highlighted the Ashhwika Foundation’s commitment to promoting holistic well-being and resilience among young adults. By collaborating with expert panels and addressing critical topics such as peer pressure, bullying, and mental wellness, the foundation continues to make a meaningful impact in empowering students to lead healthy, fulfilling lives.
