Ashhwika Foundation

On November 5th, 2023, the Ashhwika Foundation, a dedicated mental health awareness NGO, added a touch of purpose to the Diwali celebrations at Country Club in Sainik Farms, Saket. The foundation set up a vibrant stall featuring a range of handcrafted products, including Crochet Toys, Bottle Covers, Tod Bags, Cushion Covers, Sanitary Pads Covers, Speaker Covers, and various decoration items. Alongside the stall activities, the foundation also organized a Puppet Show for school students followed by their performances in celebration of Diwali.

The Diwali festivities at Country Club provided an excellent platform for the Ashhwika Foundation to showcase its commitment to mental wellness and social impact. The stall’s offerings were carefully curated to not only enhance the festive ambiance but also promote sustainable and ethical practices through the sale of handmade products.

The stall showcased a variety of handcrafted items, including Crochet Toys that captured the attention of both children and adults. These toys, made with love and creativity, symbolized the joy and warmth associated with the festival of lights while also highlighting the craftsmanship of talented artisans supported by the foundation.

Additionally, the stall featured Bottle Covers, Tod Bags, Cushion Covers, and Speaker Covers, all crafted using eco-friendly materials and techniques. These products not only added aesthetic value to homes but also promoted sustainability and conscious consumption among visitors.

An important inclusion at the stall was the Sanitary Pads Covers, emphasizing the foundation’s commitment to promoting menstrual hygiene and breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation. By offering beautifully designed covers for sanitary pads, the foundation aimed to initiate conversations about menstrual health and empower women to prioritize their well-being.

In addition to the stall activities, the Ashhwika Foundation organized a Puppet Show for school students, providing an entertaining and educational experience. The Puppet Show focused on themes related to mental health, resilience, and positivity, delivering important messages in an engaging format that resonated with the young audience.

Following the Puppet Show, school students took to the stage to showcase their talents through various performances celebrating Diwali. The performances included traditional dances, skits, and musical presentations, showcasing the cultural richness and diversity of the festival while fostering a sense of community and togetherness.

Throughout the event, volunteers and representatives from the Ashhwika Foundation engaged with visitors, shared information about mental health awareness, and discussed the significance of supporting ethical and sustainable practices. The stall and activities served as a platform to educate the community about mental wellness, social impact, and conscious consumerism.

Feedback from attendees, especially the school students and their families, was overwhelmingly positive. The combination of festive celebrations, educational activities, and meaningful conversations about mental health created a memorable and impactful experience for all participants.

The success of the stall at Country Club, Sainik Farms, highlighted the Ashhwika Foundation’s holistic approach to promoting mental health awareness while fostering community engagement and celebrating cultural festivities. Moving forward, the foundation remains committed to organizing such initiatives, creating awareness, and fostering positive change in communities.
