At Surjit Wasu School, a total of 269 students were screened, while at Mahatma Anand Arya Smaj School, 140 students underwent the screening process. The screening involved a series of questions and observations aimed at identifying potential mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, attention difficulties, and behavioral challenges.
The collaboration with Mann Rahi added value to the initiative by ensuring that the screening process adhered to professional standards and ethical guidelines. Trained professionals and volunteers from both organizations worked together to administer the screenings, maintain confidentiality, and provide guidance and resources to students and their families as needed.
The screening initiative was instrumental in identifying students who may benefit from further assessment or support services. Early detection of mental health issues allows for timely intervention, which can significantly improve outcomes and prevent potential challenges from escalating.
Following the screening, the Ashhwika Foundation provided comprehensive reports and recommendations based on the results. Students identified with potential concerns were referred to appropriate mental health professionals or school counselors for further evaluation and support. The foundation also organized awareness sessions for parents and teachers, emphasizing the importance of mental health literacy and creating a supportive environment for students.
The impact of the screening initiative extended beyond the immediate results, fostering a culture of mental health awareness and proactive intervention within the school communities. Parents and educators gained valuable insights into recognizing and addressing mental health concerns in children, leading to enhanced collaboration and support networks.
The positive response from students, parents, and school staff underscored the importance of such initiatives in promoting holistic well-being among young individuals. The Ashhwika Foundation remains dedicated to expanding its mental health outreach efforts, advocating for early intervention, and creating inclusive spaces where mental health is prioritized and supported.
Through collaborative partnerships, community engagement, and ongoing education, the foundation aims to continue making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and communities, fostering resilience, well-being, and a culture of empathy and understanding.
