On October 28th, 2023, the Ashhwika Foundation, a dedicated mental health awareness NGO, participated in the Diwali Mela organized at Club Zion in Gurgaon Sec-62. The foundation set up a vibrant stall aimed at spreading awareness about mental health and providing engaging activities to reduce mental stress among attendees. The stall featured interactive games like Mini Basketball and Puzzles, creating a fun and relaxed environment while promoting mental wellness.
The Diwali Mela Stall served as an excellent opportunity for the Ashhwika Foundation to engage with the community, raise awareness about mental health issues, and promote the importance of mental well-being. Visitors to the stall were greeted with informative displays, brochures, and posters highlighting the foundation’s mission, initiatives, and resources available for mental health support.
One of the key objectives of the stall was to offer activities that promote relaxation, mindfulness, and stress reduction. Mini Basketball and Puzzles were strategically chosen as they encourage focus, concentration, and a sense of achievement, all of which contribute to reducing mental stress and promoting mental resilience.
Participants of all ages enthusiastically participated in the games, enjoying friendly competition, laughter, and camaraderie. The interactive nature of the activities helped create a positive and engaging experience for attendees while subtly reinforcing the message of the importance of mental wellness.
Throughout the event, volunteers and representatives from the Ashhwika Foundation engaged with visitors, answered questions, and provided information about mental health awareness, stigma reduction, and available resources for seeking help or support. The stall served as a safe space for open conversations about mental health, encouraging attendees to prioritize their well-being and take proactive steps towards mental wellness.
The presence of the Ashhwika Foundation at the Diwali Mela not only raised awareness about mental health but also helped destigmatize conversations around mental illness and seeking help. By participating in community events like the Diwali Mela, the foundation continues to break barriers, challenge misconceptions, and promote a culture of mental health awareness and support.
Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing appreciation for the foundation’s efforts in promoting mental wellness and providing engaging activities at the Diwali Mela. Visitors of all ages enjoyed the games, learned about mental health, and left with a greater understanding of the importance of prioritizing mental well-being.
The success of the Diwali Mela Stall at Club Zion highlighted the Ashhwika Foundation’s commitment to reaching out to communities, raising awareness about mental health, and fostering a supportive environment for mental wellness. Moving forward, the foundation remains dedicated to organizing such initiatives, spreading awareness, and empowering individuals to prioritize their mental health and well-being in all aspects of their lives.
